Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as a powerful ally in the challenge of improving the education and vocational inclusion of people with disabilities. It is intended to explore the crucial role of AI in breaking down educational and employment barriers by providing new opportunities for personalized and accessible learning. Technologies such as AI-based virtual tutors and smart learning platforms can adapt to the specific needs of individuals with disabilities, providing personalized support during the educational journey. AI can facilitate automatic translation of learning materials, enabling students with language disabilities to fully participate in courses. However, challenges emerge, such as ensuring full accessibility to digital resources and the appropriate training to fully exploit the potential of AI in inclusive education. The present article article highlights, through scoping review work, the dual role of AI in overcoming educational and vocational barriers for individuals with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of investing in innovative solutions and promoting collaboration across sectors to create an equitable and accessible educational environment for all.
