The immersion, criticized by Plato in the myth of the cave, is a trend developed in all the arts until the advent of cinema which laid the foundations for a more total immersion,paving the way for the first AR and VR experiments from the 60s on. Doubts persist about teaching effectiveness. If the first studies seem very promising, it will be necessary to scientifically verify whether, as happened for other languages, digital immersivity can have implications for meaningful learning.
