Abstract

Concentrations of agricultural land are increasingly becoming land grabbing by large corporations and multinationals, even to the detriment of the local population and the regions to which the land belongs. The phenomenon, triggered by globalization processes, is acquiring a growing role in regional economic dynamics. The expression "land grabbing" has manifested significant conceptual definition difficulties from the outset. The contribution of Economic Geography to the concepts and methodologies related to these issues, can significantly enhance multidisciplinary research, which is increasingly necessary in this field.
