The Feeling of Infinity. On Hegel’s dispute with Schleiermacher Feeling (Gefühl) as the basic cognition of faith seems to be a common ground for Hegel’s philosophy of religion and Schleiermacher's theory of religion. I intend to elucidate how different Hegel’s and Schleiermacher’s notions of Gefühl are despite their apparent similarities. I will focus on some of Schleiermacher’s early manuscripts with regard to Spinoza’s philosophy and on his later Reden über die Religion. By the same token I will analyze some of Hegel’s main writings of the Jena period, such as Glauben und Wissen and The Phenomenology of Spirit. As a conclusion I will explain the relevance of Gefühl as a form of immediate knowledge in Hegel’s systematic theory of spirit.

Abstract
As a conclusion I will explain the relevance of Gefühl as a form of immediate knowledge in Hegel’s systematic theory of spirit.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
