The solution of the problem of the water scarcity in Apulia region (South Italy) is a major challenge, which requires political bodies and public and private management bodies need to introduce sustainability principles and circular economy in the analysis of this issue usually only dealt with in the search for new sources of supply or wastewater recovery. This paper presents a predictive model of water resource management based on Life Cycle Assessment approaches and water footprint in order to analysing the water stress in a given time for a given geographical area and differentiating by type of use (drinking, agricultural, industrial). The GIDRIS - Sustainable Water Management project represents the application of this model to the case study of the Apulia Region. Abstract

The results will be made accessible interactively with open access interactively using the web platform www.apulianws.it. Public and private operators at regional and local level can use this database.
