The aim of this paper is to provide an updated overview of technology strategies and solutions enabling related to Retail 4.0 enabling a smart reducing food waste. This is in order to highlight the managerial and product strategies, with the related enabling technological solutions, adopted in the retail sector. The results are related to the identification of best practices / Retail 4.0 solutions for reducing food waste, which could facilitate the widespread adoption in the stores.
