Early SEP components were investigated in ten HD patients in comparison to their clinical and tomographic features. SEPs were obtained by electrical stimulations of median nerve at the wrist. N9, N13, P14 and N20 waves were evaluated. All early SEP components were found normal in only one patient. Other nine patients showed P14 and/or N20 abnormalities in either one hemisphere or both. No correlation was possible among SEP abnormalities and the degree and the age of illness and the CT findings.

Abstract

Early SEP components were investigated in ten HD patients in comparison to their clinical and tomographic features. SEPs were obtained by electrical stimulations of median nerve at the wrist. N9, N13, P14 and N20 waves were evaluated. All early SEP components were found normal in only one patient. Other nine patients showed P14 and/or N20 abnormalities in either one hemisphere or both. No correlation was possible among SEP abnormalities and the degree and the age of illness and the CT findings.
