The object of the study is to evaluate the density of sleep spindles in patients with chronic chorea. Twenty- seven patients affected by chronic chorea were included in the study with nocturnal polygraphic records. No difference were found in spindling index between right and left cerebral derivations. Differently, average spindling index values were higher in anterior than posterior derivations. Moreover, spindling index in chronic chorea was higher than in normal subjects. These results put in evidence the role of basal ganglia so far as cortical spindling is concerned.

Abstract
The object of the study is to evaluate the density of sleep spindles in patients with chronic chorea. Twenty- seven patients affected by chronic chorea were included in the study with nocturnal polygraphic records. No difference were found in spindling index between right and left cerebral derivations. Differently, average spindling index values were higher in anterior than posterior derivations. Moreover, spindling index in chronic chorea was higher than in normal subjects. These results put in evidence the role of basal ganglia so far as cortical spindling is concerned.File in questo prodotto:
