In the present work an analysis of the scientific production of the Italian research group working on vegetable, flower and ornamental crops (VFO group) is reported. To generate the VFO group, were considered the Authors belonging to the: a) Italian universities (professors and researchers of the AGR04 scientific and teaching sector, according to the Italian classification system); b) two of the main agricultural public research agencies (CNR and CRA). A total, 90 Authors were selected. The number of papers on ISI journals and Acta Horticulturae, and the Impact Factor of the journals for each Author were measured over the period of ten years (2000-2009). H-index for each Author was also considered in the analysis. As total of 237 ISI-papers were counted. The actual ISI-paper publication rate has resulted 0.5 per year on an author individual basis. The average IF (2008) of the journals, more related to the Italian AGR04 sector, has been 0.808, with 0.958 as 75th percentile. The average H-index value has resulted between 2.2 and 3.5. The higher 75th percentile has been recorded for the full professors class compared to the other classes, but the 20% of the whole VFO group has shown a Hindex null. Actually the whole group has a good rate on publishing papers in Acta Horticulturae.
