The Italian Academic "Regolamenti didattici" introduce significant new perspectives and changes as from the 2009-2010 academic year, as regards the teaching of Medical English in both degree courses in Medical Studies and Dentistry that represent an improvement for the teaching/learning of Medical English in Italian Universities as they underscore: a) the need for greater linguistic advancement of Italian medical students in line with European requirements; b) the need for closer co-operation between stakeholders involved including colleagues from other disciplines.

Abstract
