The contribution proposes a classification of the writing techniques used in epigraphy. The classification is based on the writing techniques, the instruments used to perform the inscription, the characteristics of the letters (the way in which the letters are presented). This proposal aims to give a clear and comprehensive system to describe the epigraphic writing for all who deal with epigraphy.
