The electoral competitions developed in recent years have a redefinition of the continuum and right / left dynamics, whose interpretation does not have to be linked only to conjectural variables, such as the broad sense of political disappointment of the moment, since properly this variable conceals deeper symptoms. In this perspective, the political-electoral approach is configured as a crucial reading key for understanding the redistribution of political forcesalong the “new” global / national axis, which, in turn, redefines the very meaning of right and left, because, in view of the global context, the electoral results seem to have followed the same scenario, condensed in the strong contrast between multilateralism / unilateralism, fueled by the tendency to spread fear and, consequently, to praise the return to forms - more or less extreme- of pronationalism. A relevant polarization, which, therefore, pushes towards a double conclusion, namely, in the first place, the asymmetry between political sovereignty / economic liberalization, and, secondly, the strong alteration of the international order resulting from the unexpected destruction of the integrationist perspective and the cooperative spirit that has been set in motion, whose reaffirmation in reverse is fundamental for global stability.
