De la personalización política al “redescubrimiento” de la dimensión del orden común

The submission of the contemporary political-institutional arenas to strong transformations and, also, shared vision about the need to reinvigorate the democratic legitimacy of the current institutions, promotes the scientific community to question the effects that these trends can cause in the democratic architecture. This chapter covers these debates through the study of the interrelationships between two key variables, i.e. through a rereading of the category of populism and evaluation of the role played by the institutions, in order to consider whether the contrast between the “tradicional political “and the calls “populist deviations” may favor a return of politics to the collegial dimension
