Le epigrafi dell’Adriatico in EDR: divulgazione, valorizzazione e ricerca scientifica

The paper briefly traces the steps of the digitization project of the inscriptions of the Italian peninsula and of Sicily and Sardinia (EDR) from the birth in 2004 to the collaboration with Eagle Europeana project, financed by the European community in 2013-2016. Within the European project, the translation system developed with the collaboration of Wikimedia and the Storytelling Application was found to be particularly useful for dissemination. The text also provides updated data on the status of digitized inscriptions concerning the Roman cities of the Adriatic area, in particular the centers of the Piceno and Umbria to the east of the Apennines. For some years now, the work of cataloging these areas is complete. All records of epigraphic texts are accompanied by photos and updated informations on support, place of discovery and current conservation. The collected data therefore allow the production of important works of synthesis and at the same time offer a valid tool that facilitates its conservation and protection.
