The essay examines the different and disputed interpretations about the structure of John’s Gospel, particularly Guilding’s and Mollat’s ones. The two scholars consider liturgy and feasts as potential structural factors. Therefore the essay proposes attaching great importance not only to the feasts of Israel, which mark the Gospel’s narration, but also to Jesus’ journeys to Jerusalem temple, the religious and liturgical center of Jewish nation. The feasts of Israel are neither abolished nor replaced: their meaning is fulfilled in Christ, the universal and spiritual center of the meeting with God.

Abstract
The essay examines the different and disputed interpretations about the structure of John’s Gospel, particularly Guilding’s and Mollat’s ones. The two scholars consider liturgy and feasts as potential structural factors. Therefore the essay proposes attaching great importance not only to the feasts of Israel, which mark the Gospel’s narration, but also to Jesus’ journeys to Jerusalem temple, the religious and liturgical center of Jewish nation. The feasts of Israel are neither abolished nor replaced: their meaning is fulfilled in Christ, the universal and spiritual center of the meeting with God.File in questo prodotto:
