Abstract

Archaeological storytelling is a complex operation be- cause there are many different ways to do archaeology and many possible languages that can be used to de- scribe them. Nowadays, in archaeological communica- tion the connection with the deep roots of the discipline (the process from analysis to synthesis and from inter- pretation to reconstruction) often remains unexpressed. New elements such as a conscious use of technology, the accuracy of the contents and the involvement of the public are strongly needed to achieve new forms of ar- chaeological storytelling and trigger new opportunities of development for the entire sector of cultural heritage. But above all it is mandatory for archaeologists to recu- perate their right to tell their own stories.
