This volume provides an analytical exposition of a collection of new words that have appeared in the digital age that illustrates typical phenomena of contemporary English. From a formal standpoint the volume explores these words in terms of compounding, compacting as acronyms and abbreviations and, more generally, as the evolution in English towards symbolic forms of language and discourse.
