The article explores the use of medical information in non-medical contexts and, in particular, those relating to socio-political contexts. It characterizes the degree of medical content in a variety of genres, distinguishing between, on the one hand, the ‘medical’ advertorial with an essentially commercial goal and, on the other hand, more truly socio-political genres that claim and/or appear to be dealing with medical information in relation, for example, to national and international health policies. These claims need to be carefully scrutinized.

Abstract
The article explores the use of medical information in non-medical contexts and, in particular, those relating to socio-political contexts. It characterizes the degree of medical content in a variety of genres, distinguishing between, on the one hand, the ‘medical’ advertorial with an essentially commercial goal and, on the other hand, more truly socio-political genres that claim and/or appear to be dealing with medical information in relation, for example, to national and international health policies. These claims need to be carefully scrutinized.File in questo prodotto:
