Linguistic Passages from Futurism and Abstraction to the Autobiographical Lexicon of Performance Art, Starting with the Italian Fortune of Marina Abramović · A research on the available sources (interviews, writings intended for publication and private writings, etc.) about the history of reception of the Performance Art in Italy also deals with the examination of the artists’ autobiographical lexicographic materials. The research deals also with the historical iconographies of the European twentieth century. Because some performer artists are well known or have worked the most in Italy, it is useful to study the authorized images from the perfomances by the « grandmother of the Performance Art », Marina Abramović. At the time of the first italian retrospective Abramović’s exhibition, The Cleaner, the autobiography Walk Through Walls : A Memoir, was translated in italian language, and with the authorized biography of the artist seems one of the better sources to sketch a first story of the Perfomance Art’s language and iconographies.
